Bot identity

Change the bot's name, join chat message and camera image.

Everything about how the bot presents itself is a free setting. Open Settings and find the Bot section.

Display name

The name the bot types when it joins as a guest. Up to 64 characters, one line. The default is Minutd Notetaker. Leaving it empty restores the default.

Join chat message

The bot posts this in the meeting chat right after it is admitted. The default is:

Minutd notetaker is recording notes for this meeting. minutd.com

This message is the only place the bot mentions Minutd. Edit it, or clear it to send nothing. Up to 500 characters, one line.

Camera image

Optional. By default the bot joins with its camera off. Upload a PNG or JPEG (up to 2 MB, 16:9 works best, other shapes get black bars) and the bot joins with its camera on, showing that image as its video. Remove the image to turn the camera off again.

Chromium is started with a fake video device that plays the image, converted with ffmpeg to a short looping clip. This is verified against the fixture pages used in the tests, which receive the frame. It has not been checked against live Google Meet or Microsoft Teams yet. If the real client does not accept the fake camera, or the image cannot be converted, the bot joins with the camera off and the meeting still works.

The chat selectors for Meet and Teams are best effort until they are checked against live meetings. If the message cannot be sent, the bot logs it and carries on recording.
